How to Personalise a Canva Invitation Template in 5 Minutes
No design skills needed. No confusion. Just open, edit, and send — your beautiful invite is ready faster than your morning chai.
Open the Template in Canva
When you purchase a template from us, you'll get a Canva template link. Click it — it will open directly in your browser. No app download needed!
If you don't have a Canva account yet, it will ask you to sign up. The free account works perfectly for most of our templates — always check the listing description to confirm before purchasing.
Once the template opens, click "Use template" button. This creates your own personal copy — you won't be editing the original.
Change the Name & Text
This is the main thing you need to change! Here's exactly how:
- →Click once on the name text on the invite — a text box will appear
- →Double-click to select all the text inside
- →Simply type the new name — it replaces automatically
- →Do the same for date, time, venue and RSVP number
- →Click anywhere outside the text box when done
If the name is too long and goes off the card, reduce the font size using the number box in the top toolbar. Click the text → select all → change size.
Adjust Colors or Fonts (Optional)
Want to tweak the look a little? Our templates are fully editable — but honestly, most buyers use them as-is because they're already designed beautifully!
- →To change font color: click the text → select all → click the color box in the toolbar → pick your color
- →To change font style: click the text → select all → click the font name dropdown at top → choose a new font
- →To change background color: click on the background → click the color box → choose your shade
Not sure about colors? Stick to the original design — our templates are professionally color-matched. Less is more!
Add a Photo (Optional)
Some of our templates have a photo placeholder — a box where you can add baby's photo or a family picture. Here's how:
- →Click on the photo placeholder box on the template
- →Click "Replace" or the image icon that appears
- →Click "Upload files" and choose your photo from your phone or laptop
- →The photo will appear — drag to reposition or pinch to resize within the frame
Best photo tip: use a clear, well-lit photo with the subject centred. Portrait orientation works best for most invite layouts.
Download & Share or Print
You're done editing! Now choose how you want to use your invite:
Share Digitally
Download as PNG — perfect for WhatsApp, Instagram Stories & email. High quality, small file size.
Print at Home or Shop
Download as PDF (Print) — high resolution, ready for any print shop. Check your listing description for the exact card size before printing.
- →Click the Download button (top right corner in Canva)
- →Choose PNG for digital sharing or PDF Print for printing
- →Click "Download" — file saves to your device instantly
- →Open WhatsApp → attach the file → send to your guest list! 🎉

Quick Questions Answered
Just a heads up — working on a smaller screen can feel a bit tricky for detailed edits like adjusting font sizes or repositioning elements. For the best and easiest experience, we recommend editing on a laptop or desktop if possible.
